VINYL & SUNBOARD

VINYL

Vinyl is just like paper sticker though it is made of plastic although it is very strong and non – tearable.

SUNBOARD

Sun board or foam board is a light, easily cut sheet material used for the mounting of vinyl prints. It is usually used in signages, in – store displays & indoor branding.

CUSTOMER DOUBTS

Question : Customers often do ask us how can we directly paste vinyl on to the wall. Why there is a need to first paste it on to the sunboard, PVC sheets, acrylic etc. and then mount it on the wall.

Answer : Vinyl requires plain smooth surface to hold on to for longer duration of time. We can no doubt paste it on to the wall but wall both with distemper or paint is a rough surface & not of smoothness desired for vinyls. This will result into it getting peeled off as with rust and roughness adhesive won’t stay for that long.

That is the reason why printers like us ask you to mount it on sunboard this is not just another gimmick of making money. Printers are not taken correctly these days. Pasting directly on to the panel or wall is ok if you are participating in an events, exhibition etc.for say 2 -3 days. If your exhibitor allow you to paste it then you can go ahead with it. It is worth mentioning here that this once removed and pasted, can’t be removed & reused again. This is where it is different from flex which although do not come with the adhesive like vinyl but can be rolled back in and reused.

Quality of vinyl : There are so many qualities of vinyls are available in the market but however the best quality of vinyl is 3M and Avery which are offering products called wall graphics which has high adhesive strength and can directly be applied on to the wall. But naturally it is so expensive compare to normal vinyl in the market.

Various sizes of sunboard : Sunboard comes in various sizes and thickness. Common thickness available for sunboard is 3mm, 5mm, 8mm and 10mm and the sizes of sunboard is 3×6; 3×8; 3×10; 4×6; 4×8; 4×10; 5×6; 5×8; 5×10 (feet). Pasting of vinyl on sunboard is easy when we consider direct pasting of vinyl on glass
